Recently dumped by her fiancé, out-of-work actress Sophia can't seem to catch a break, until her manager, Ray, announces he's sending her to a Texas horse ranch to learn how to become a ‘real cowgirl' for an upcoming Western movie. Sophia has high hopes, but confesses to Ray that she has never been around a horse. When she arrives at the ranch she is finds that the ranch owners are three single brothers.


Older brother Owen, the ranch manager, is level headed and accommodating. Youngest brother Jesse, free spirited and aloof. Middle brother Clay, reasonable and grounded. Clay begins the horse training, and they are at immediately at odds- the big city girl and the country cowboy. Sophia begs Ray to let her come back home, but he tells her to stay put -- she needs the acting job.


We learn Clay once had a chance to be a country music singer, but chose the ranch and his brothers over a music career. Sophia catches him at night working on a love ballad. She begins to have feelings for Clay, realizing that he is kind and gentle. She assumes Clay has a girlfriend in town, and now curious, she secretly follows him- to a resident care facility! His mother Rose is suffering from advanced Alzheimer's. This is a different side of Clay that Sophia has not seen. Confused about her growing feelings, Sophia calls her friend Mary Beth for advice, who then shows up with a suitcase full of sexy cowgirl clothes. She wants Sophia back in the dating game!


Clay tells Sophia the ranch is named after his mother Rose. He is organizing a charity event at the ranch to raise money for Alzheimer's. Sophia wants to help and promises to be there, but just before the event, her former fiancée arrives and says he’s still in love with her and wants her back. Then Ray calls and tells Sophia to come home immediately, as his director friend has decided to hire her for the movie. Sophia has no choice but to leave.

 

The day of the charity event arrives and Clay sits by himself strumming his guitar and finishing the love song he has been writing. Sophia walks through the door surprising Clay. She tells him that she turned down the role. Clay tells her the love song is written for her. They both confess their love.


Ray and the film director arrive and announce they want Sophia for the movie and will film at the ranch. Clay sings the new love song and it's a hit with the charity event crowd. Sophia joins Clay onstage and they finish the moment in each other’s arms, much to the delight of everyone around them.

Heartbroken Sophia goes to a Texas horse ranch in hopes of forgetting her past where she meets handsome Clay and finds love again, until her ex-fiancé arrives and tries to break them up.
